The Safeguarding Children Partnership, Safeguarding Adults Board and Calderdale organisations present Safeguarding Week 2024 to raise awareness about safeguarding children and adults and the importance that safeguarding is everyone’s business.

Calderdale is again, taking part in a West Yorkshire wide Safeguarding Week where each Local Authority will host a day each, to present a topic of their choice and all practitioners and managers from across West Yorkshire can attend all the events:
Monday: Hosted by Leeds: Lasting power of attorneys (LPA) and Deputyships from the Court of Protection, Non-fatal strangulation, and Risks Outside the Home.
Tuesday: Hosted by Kirklees: Learning from Tragedy – Working Together to Get it Right.
Wednesday: Hosted by Wakefield: Masterclass in Serious Youth Violence, and Active Listening and professional curiosity.
Thursday: Hosted by Calderdale: Mental Capacity Act 2005 and deprivation of liberty issues for those aged 16 and above – Webinar with Neil Allen
Friday: Hosted by Bradford: Bruising on Immobile Babies and Children, and Self-Neglect-Case based discussion.
Calderdale partners have also offered local events throughout the week, including a varied offer of face to face, and live online learning sessions all aimed at Calderdale practitioners and managers.
