Calderdale Young Advisors are a group of Young People aged between 13-17 years old. The Young Advisors influence how services in Calderdale safeguard, support and help improve the lives of children and young people in Calderdale.

Our work varies from creating posters and surveys to going to meetings and presenting our findings. This helps us to gain future skills and it is great experience for our CV.

We work closely with Calderdale Safeguarding Children Partnership. We meet online, on the first Thursday of every month from 5pm – 7pm (date and times may vary). We get paid £5 an hour.

If you are interested in applying for the role of Young Advisor, please tell us your name, age and provide responses to the following questions.

  1. Please explain your understanding of the role of a Young Advisor
  2. If you or someone you know are unsafe, do you know what safeguarding services are available for support?
  3. What do you feel are the most important issues for young people today?
  4. Can you please tell us a time you have shown your commitment to something?
