Safeguarding Week 2023

The Safeguarding Children Partnership, Safeguarding Adults Board and Calderdale organisations are pleased to present Safeguarding Week 2023 Programme to raise awareness about safeguarding children and adults and the importance that safeguarding is everyone’s business.

Calderdale is taking part in a West Yorkshire wide Safeguarding Week where each Local Authority will host a day each, to present a topic of their choice and all practitioners and managers from across West Yorkshire can attend all the events:

Monday, Hosted by Leeds: Learning from Domestic Homicide Reviews; West Yorkshire Fire Service’s Safe & Well, How to complete the Organisational Safeguarding Assessment, Introduction to Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), and Financial Abuse and Safeguarding.

Tuesday, Hosted by Kirklees: Mental Capacity Act; Back to Basics, and Executive Functioning

Wednesday, Hosted by Wakefield: Trauma Informed Care

Thursday, Hosted by Calderdale: Impact of adversity in Childhood, through to adolescence and adulthood. Watch the recording – Cot to College to Childbearing Ages in Adulthood: How difficult homes can leave a legacy in the adult space with Cath Knibbs.

Friday, Hosted by Bradford: Dental Neglect, Child Neglect and Neglect & Safeguarding Adults.

Calderdale partners have also offered local events throughout the week, including a varied offer of live and online learning sessions all aimed at Calderdale practitioners and managers, which you can access on the Safeguarding Week 2023 Programme.
